Our Mission

We are dedicated to building a positive learning environment that focuses on educating the whole child, academic excellence for all, and supporting the diverse needs of the students attending Colonel Johnston Elementary School.

At Colonel Johnston Elementary School, we are a community of learners who believe in educating the whole child. Staff, students, and parents are very proud of the excellent educational opportunities at Colonel Johnston Elementary School. Our outstanding staff is committed and dedicated to providing an academic program that challenges each student as well as meets the social and emotional needs of each individual child. To this end, we provide opportunities for students to participate in a curriculum beyond just Reading, Writing, and Math. Students can have talents in many areas, and we want to help develop these talents. In addition to their Reading, Writing, and Math classes, students have classes covering Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Library.

In addition, we believe that the support of parents and the community is an important part of the success of our school. Teaming together to help our students succeed makes CJES a great place to learn. Parents are involved in many areas of our school, from volunteering in the classroom, library, or at school events to being active members of our PTO.
